My 6BTA 250's came with a factory optional manual pump mounted on the outboard side of each engine with a hose to the drain fitting. The output spigot of the manual pumps is exactly 1/2" so some 1/2" heater hose fits perfect. I have a large 120v Jabsco flexible impeller pump I bought on ebay for about 100 bucks. I keep the pump on some newspaper in a large platic container, since you are gonna drip a few drops no matter how careful you are. I put the suction side on the spigot, use a hose clamp for security, and put the output hose into a red 5 gal. plastic gas can and pump away, sucking thru the manual pump. Buy long hoses. Takes less than 5 mins. a side. My genset also has a drain hose that I keep wire-tied up with a brass camp on the end. I can change the oil & filters in the mains and genset in less than an hour with this set up, assuming I remember which way the #@$@ stb. oil filter unscrews. Most quick oil change places will take your old oil.
