Interior T&H sole varnish recommendations

Its time to start finishing the T&H sole. After doing Capt. Pat's epoxy seal procedure, it'll be time to varnish.

I plan on using Interlux Goldspar satin--I want a satin or matte finish. If anybody else has had good luck with another product, I'd appreciate the heads up. I'd like something that is as clear as possible--some varnishes have an amber tone to them. I only picked the Interlux because it and Epiphanes were the only satin varnishes on the shelf, and as Capt. Pat put it, Epiphanes has a learning curve, and the guy at the store said that Interlux easier to use.

Thanks in advance--I'd rather be fishin'--missing a great spring season on the Bay.
