Craig,

Feel free to paint the whole bottom. I have been using Micron for 5 years and every year she comes out clean with the exception of a line at the waterline. The stuff wears away every time you use the boat, so there is no need to worry about buildup. Besides, they way you take care of your boat, I don't think you would skimp on bottom paint.
