UVI stuff for newbies

The UVI is only about 5 weeks away, and the invitees know who they are. If you are coming on a boat, and will sleep on it, bring what the Capt. says, I'll provide breakfast and dinner each day, lunch is whatever the boat has. For those coming without boats, or the few I've promised shore bunks to, there are some things to note:
1. the UVI is a camping trip - you will get a bunk in air conditioning, but little else. Yep, we have hot showers. Dress code is shorts and t-shirts, period. It will be hot, bring sun screen, a good hat, and mosquito repellant.
2. If you have a hand held VHF, bring it and the charger, since some will be bunked away from the dock (in some seriously nice accomidations, and I'll assign them, so bribes are OK) and you will need it to hail the UVI ferry boats - only a few hundred yards, but we gotta keep in touch, as some of the wanna-be winners of the UVI like to leave early. VHF ch. 68 will be the official UVI channel.
3. Bring a good towel and your own bath soap.
4. Bring anyting you need other than food & booze. Port Eads usually has some smokes, and other than that, bring it with you. Remember, you will be 20 n.m. from the end of the road, and unless you are a damn strong swimmer upstream in the Mississippi River, you are stuck there. Obviously bring any medications, etc.
5. Bring a light rain suit, it rains a lot at Port Eads.
6. And bring a smile, as it is indeed an event that is based on only one thing - having fun with friends. And yep, we go blue water fishing, eat some really good Coonass food, drink a little, and on yeah, bring your good cigars. Smoking is permitted.
