Dave:

Too much skinny water in Riverside, come dock in the Eastern end of the Sound! Or at least in the Old Saybrook area, it will be a much faster run to the Canyons if you drive from the Western part of the state to the Eastern part and then hook up and go.

I used to live in Fairfield, and I ran a 54 Bertram that was kept in Norwalk. I finally convinced the owner that it made more sense to put the boat in Old Saybrook and drive from his home in Weston to the boat. Cut a lot of time out of our offshore trips.

Sad to say, he sold the boat 6 years ago, and replaced it with a 26' Grady Catamaran. Someone convinced him that would be the ultimate day boat to run offshore with 2 guys. "It will take any sea at 30 knots." I went once, end of story!

Good luck with the 50, hell of a ride!

Tom
