BOTTOM PAINT

i currently use micron----my boat is only in the water june--september---when i pulled it out last fall it was very clean---getting ready to launch ---should i paint the bottom---boat yard says its not necessary as it is multi-season paint and you don't want the paint to build up---maybe just the water line and the front where the bottom is exposed--any ideas?
