I wish I wrote this before buying materials. I realy appreciate the advice. I did my test layups with basic waxed polyester resin, hopefully I can exchange the laminating resin. I have not purchase a core material yet, I initially looked for divinycel but I had difficulty finding a local retailer. I then did some reading where pascoe was touting the benefits of balsa. It sounds like I need to retry finding a local retailer again.

I just re-read your article on basic composite structure and I believe that I understand the concept. In simple terms, you are looking to use fiberglass in tension (trying to pull it apart with an inline force).

As for layup, I get your drift about the KISS principle about the vaccum bagging. While I gather the correct materials, I will do some more test layups to make sure I know what I'm doing.

thank you again,
Matt
