Dave, you are in the right place for sure, and now one of the Faithful, welcome aboard.

I'm in Louisiana and have made the trip around the Gulf a couple of times, and it's real easy. The only place you have to go offshore is crossing the Big Bend of FL between Appalachicola and Crystal River, about 100 n.m. but it's well marked. The rest of the way from Mobile to the OKC waterway you can do inside, but with a 50, who wants to stay inside?
