Yep an 8D still has it's merits. I buy mine at Sam's for $99.95 and they last 4 years with the pink battery potion. They are made by Exide and are deep cycle/starting batteries with 435 hours reserve capacity. Now if you put two Odysey's in parrell you would have about the same reserve and just about the same weight.Now the cost would be times 5 however with a double lifespan however. I run a lot of all nighters with the livewell running all night long on cycle operation. A seperate 8D for the aux , spreader lights. I have a long life reduced current anchor light so that really helps. Ever since I switched to the 8D's I have never had a problem with a dead battery.
