My tie bar had bronze threaded forks on each end that were thru bolted to the bronze rudder arms. I'll try to go to the boat today and look at what kind of ball arrangement is working off my Hydraulic system. If I remember correctly, a square plate was welded to the ss and the ball was on that plate.
