I'm using 1 X 1 starboard that I cut on a table saw mounted to the deck then panels screwed into it. No trim at bottom, just at the top. I'm getting mine painted as we speak with Imron.Try to get away from wood there as it can get wet. Goodness knows I just pulled enough rotton and wet wood out of my deck and supports. Dave K
