I, like many others I'm sure, have witnessed the same. The equipment today has narrowed the "roads" to and from the canyons, fishing spots to narrow highways. I was taught by old schoolers[before electronics]. The first loran I used was out of a WW 2 bomber and you had to count the "humps" at different settings to get the loran number[its a wonder any bombs hit their targets]. and I have experienced loran loss, way offshore/gas motors. My eyes frequently scan the compass. Richie super sport.
