Propeller Voodoonomics

Here is today's quiz:

2 years ago I bought brand new Michigan Dynaquads in 18x22 as that is what Michigan recommended to me.

The prop guys that were reconning my props called me and said they were in fact 18x21 1/4. Is it possible that 2 years of moderate running time took some of the pitch out of the props? Or, is it more likely they came out of the box that way? I know I am the only person that ran the boat and it never hit anything, didn't run through sand or mud or anything.

Also, any quesses as to how much cruising speed I am going to gain by adding pitch? I am guessing that more pitch will give me more cruising speed, is that correct?
