Charlie, yeah that stuff is a magic potion, thanks again. It's like Corrosion X, the pink battery potion, & Tef Gel. All this stuff I've learned here from you, Da Judge, Patrick & other Faithful. As mentioned before, if I'd known about his stuff 40 years ago (some of it is newer, I know) I'd saved a zillion units of time, patience and money on boats, cars, fishing tackle, etc.

An example: today I got a few minor parts to fix one of my Shimano Calcutta 700 big casting reels - the plastic screw cap that holds the level wind pawl in is basically a shear pin that breaks if the level wind worm gear gets hung up, good idea but carry a spare. Anyway, decided to strip the line off and re-spool with new Ande 30#. I had shot the reel with Corrosion X a few years ago and while pulling the old line off, noticed the CX was down to the spool, coating the line. So I decided to test if the CX had weakened the line. Could not break the line with 35# on a hand scale. Maybe it makes it stronger. Anyway, the punch line is when I got all the line off, the spool looked brand new - no white crud, no corrosion where the line was wrapped on the spool, no nothing, just brand new looking, no pits. Amazing.
