I've got this unit. It taunts me from my tool chest, daring me to do something useful with it. If I switch the DCV seting from 2V to 20V to 200V all it does is change the amount of digits available in front or behind the decimal point. I just went out in the garage and stuck in on the +/- of a charged marine battery and got "10". Volts I assume. Is that good? Will that battery always produce 10 volts or does it depend on how well charged it is? If I'm poking around the boat with this meter where should I set it and what range of readings should I be looking for?
