Actually I was the powertrain guy.

I recently transferred to Oshawa Truck Assembly in, Oshawa Ontario.

I am still undecided in what to put in my B20. I think the 4.3 V6 is plenty of power, but I do not really like that engine in the small pick-ups or in the Astro van. I am certain that the V8 would be quieter and smoother.

I recently heard (external source - no one from GM) that Mercruiser / volvo will begin using the new Vortec V8 in marine applications. I think they will be using the new 5.3 Liter that you get in the fullsize pick-ups.

Part of me says wait to see what is coming, the other part says wait and get a good deal on something being discontinuned.

Honestly, I'm not quite sure which route I will go.

If you are interested, I have a contact / source on mercruiser packages that is very cheap! SAelection is hit or miss, but I have spoken with him on several occasions and things look promising.
