Before I used Awlgripped my bilges I used an Poly from Interlux that did'nt require a catalyst and I did'nt use a primer just tuffy padded the bilge. It was three months after when I started to use the boat and it took very little to scatch, I dropped a socket wrench in the bilge and it made a scratch. Stepped into the bilge with sneakers on and managed to lift off some paint. That won't happen with primed Awlgrip.
