I ditto Doc - why re-invent the wheel? Contact cement is to formica what Corrosion X is to crud. I have a cutting board I did with white formica and contact cement 40 years ago on some exterior plywood that's good as new, and it sits outside in this terrible humid, wet climate. Formica does not like ultraviolet rays, so keep it out of the sun unless you paint it.
