I keep them the a/c, head intake, raw water washdown seacocks closed unless they are being used that day or that time. Those 3 are always closed when I leave the boat. The engine cooling intakes I leave open, unless I'm going to be away from the house (boat is at my dock in my backyard) for more than a week or so--then I close those also. I guess I do it for peace of mind--I've replaced all the hoses and clamps on everything over the past couple of years.
