Plastic boats

I had to pull a gear out of a flush deck motor tub yesterday, it was locked up.
Had the tow company pull it from the slip over to the haul out area so the fork lift could jab its prong thru the door into the salon and lift it out.
On the return trip to the slip, the wind had shifted to theeastwhich was right in line with the slip but the tow company some how got sideways and when the wind caught the tub, it was heading beam to the pilings very quickly.Standing on the bow I watched as it headed for the pillings with the tow company guy yelling at me to fend off.
I turned and told him he was f***ing nuts and if he knew how to run the boat in the first place, this wouldn't have happend and get ready to call your insurance company.Right at that time we hit and I watched the port bow right where it started to curve forward push in 8 to 9 inches. A second later, we bounced off and the dent dissapeared. Nothing, not even a scratch.
On a side note, one of the young smart asses who work the dock saw the gear comming out. Hanging from an 18' fork it looks small. Getting it out from behind the Cummins was like like removing a 300lb woman from a size 6 jeans. There was no way it was comming out without major surgery. 7 hours worth.
Anyway after a few more smart ass comments as to how old I was getting, I had the fork lift driver set it down and showed the kid 2 hundred dollar bills and told him they were his if he could pick it up.
Well needless to say I still have my two hundred bucks and this kids nuts are the size of grapefruits this morning I do believe.
