Survey says, never. Okay once but that was because I was changing a pump. Then I couldn't remember if it was closed or open when I tried to open it. I have one of those tapered wedgey seacocks that rotate 90deg to open and another 90 to close, then another 90 to open and if the wrench slips @ 45deg or so you can't remember if it went too far or not far enough so you take apart the strainer and open the valve, shut it, reinstall the strainer then open the valve and sware you will mark it this time, just not now because your running late.

Okay maybe a few times I have closed it, most due to ongoing projects I don't finish and need to leave.
