I have the same set up as Bill. Andre F. just put two of the super Odyssey batteries outboard of his port Cummins 6BTA and his genset is outboard of the stb. engine. The Odyssey is about a thrid the size of an 8D with the same power and sealed - no water to check. He put them in regular plastic battery boxes and it made a real neat installation. I'll go the same way if I ever have to change my 8D's (use the pink potion, so maybe they will outlast me). 8D's are just too heavy to heave over the engines for us mere mortals.
