So where to put the batteries

So now that I have the deck out, the aux tank out and I am ripping out the rear engine bulkhead I look at the crap I have in my battery box sitting in between the two engines going from the door to the bulkhead. So a half hour later the old wooden box is out.

Now I can either rebuild a box to put the batteries in, one a bit smaller and further off the bottom, or I was thinking of freeing up that area for storage and relocating the batteries. Just curious as to where everybody puts these things, a place that is safe, yet easily assesable. I would hate to move them only to find out its the wrong spot.
