Phew, that is exactly what I am doing.

I am using the drill to do most of the hard work, and then tightening finally with a good bit of umph by hand.

I learned that after I broke off the 3rd screw I tried. (First two went fine...)

Patrick, I am guessing I will need to fill any remaining gap in the butt joints with bedding compound as well. No?
