To prevent squeeking in the future use a bedding compound such as Polyurathane construction adhesive. Iused it on my new bulkead to the cabin. No squeeks. I had no squeeks before either, the former stewart used looks like regular water based caulk. It worked though. Just basic physics here, cushion the blows. Man I hate rough seas. When I was young on my B25 I used to tolorate it like a cowboy. Now is a totally different story. Anyway cushion the blow between surfaces . You get the picture. Dave K
