31 Strakes were "molded" into the hull when built[another reason for the 2 piece mold]. As most know molds today are built and designed so that the hull can "pop" out of the mold. Someone at the marina bought a brand new 41' Albamarel express a year or two ago, hull #2 or #3, the one they use in their ads. The strakes join together in front of the bow line, forming "teeth", which would lock the hull in a one piece mold. Yes they were glued on after the hull was made and go down the hull as uneven as a winding road.[never jigged them in place I guess] . In addition they had an installation/design problem and one eng. was rebuilt at 8hrs. the other at 16hrs and that puppy listed for $500,000 stripped.
