Need Capt. Pat's advice asap

I went to my marina to find my boat on the slings ready to put in. In the process of touching up my bottom, they noticed a small (about 1 1/2" x 3/8") darker spot at the very base of the transom where it meets the bottom. As the boat sat all winter, as it was sitting on the slings, and actually as it probably sits in the water, the lowest part of the boat. The small darkish spot seems to be wettness/dampness. no drip of any sort.

The marina insists the boat has to go in today and if I want it fixed, they'll haul it next week when they'll have room to re-block it then grind it down, fiberglass it etc.

Seems to me, the best way to address it would have been to have blocked it with the stern up a bit, let it dry all winter and fix it in the spring. If that's so, am I/would I be doing the hull any harm by doing it that way at the end of this season, or do you see this as a "must do" now? I know we don't have a coring problem, but I'm going to the master for advice. For all I know it's been that way for a while, but once seen, gotta do what's right. Walter
