Carl, I am in the same position as you. Being a woodworker I'm going to put a teak deck back in my B31. My engine bulkhead was rotted along the top so I cut the top 6" off and glassed on a new 1/2" marine plywood portion. I didn't want to take the tank out to totally glass in a entire new bulkhead. The original plywood was in surprisingly great conditon. I made a new aft "shelf" that runs along the transom with 10' long 3/4" marine ply glassed on both sides. I'm installing a slight camber in the forward section of the deck to initiate a little better run off.

I flew out to Cal. and almost bought Alex Whitaker's deck system which is really nice. When I learned that the enging boxes were a foot further aft (for diesels) I opted to put the original teak deck back. I love that large cockpit back there and didn't want to give it up.

I hope to post some pictures on our "Bullet Proof" restoration soon. Good luck with yours.
