crack in lifting strake

Hi guys. I've got a small crack across one of the lifting strakes. When I slipped the boat last year, even after 4 days, this area was still abit drippy and wet. I would like to repair it this year but unfortunately only have 4 days up again. Is there any way of speeding the drying process? I thought of drilling just a few holes in the strake to allow air in and water out? I also thought (wishfully) maybe I can just leave it without too much trouble. I assume that there is a wood core within the strake that would deteriorate so that doesn't sound brilliant. I thought of blowers heat lamps etc.
Does this thing really have to be fixed and how do I dry her out quickly? Maybe it doesn't make sense to bother with it in 4 days and should wait until can slip her for a longer period? How much time do I have until this crack starts causing trouble? It certainly hasn't gotten any bigger over the year and has probably been there for years.
So folks let me know what to do.
Much obliged,
JJ
