I have seastops on my B38. I fabricated "wedges" from starboard which matches the curvature of the hull and allows the door to remain vertical. Additionally, I enlarged the transom drains to match the opening of larger seastops. This set up has worked well and provides a bit more safety margin should a wave break over the transom due to the improved draining rate from greater scupper area.

I have also seen magnets embedded into seastops (bottom of door/frame) to keep the door closed.
