windshield kit delima

just tryed to install my windshield kit from holmesy co..but it won;'t fit,seems like the measurments from the boat to the kit is alot different,the boat is 96 1/2''wide and the kit is 98'' wide.this is on a 31 bert.has any one installed one of his window kits before ???if so i would like all the help i can get !!!!!the whole window kit seems like it is tweeked really bad...any help from the pros out there??? it looks like the only way to make it fit is to cut it down the middle ,^%&^%%& and i really don't want to do that $$$$$$$
