I have a Magellan handheld on a bracket on my bridge
as a backup to my Northstar. I can remove the unit's antenna and plug in an external mushroom antenna mounted on my radar arch. I have more satelites with the external, but if I want to take the unit with me for use eldewhere, I just pop on it's little antenna. Best of both worlds.
