thru hull questions

I am in the process of my 28 B cabin redo and am just finishing the install of my new galley forward of the dinette on the starboard side(where my locker was). The sink drain needs to be plumbed---where should I locate the thru hull? The original sink and sink in the head are plumbed to one that is in the engine room----is it necessary to do this on the other side or can I simply have the thru hull behind the sink just above the water line---
