You can always do what I did when I bought my B31 eight years ago. Have a surveyor do the boat, and then hire a mechanic to do the mechanical survey. I had them both on the boat for the seatrial. Sure it cost more money, but having the Volvo mechanic on board was much better than having just the surveryor. He only charged me for the time, knowing he'd get the mechanical work, as needed, down the road.
