After watching him work with my engines, I decided that even if I had the box that goes in between the laptop and ECU, it would do me little good. The program is not very user friendly. It picks up 16 different points in throttle position and 16 RPM's just to calculate the needed fuel mixture (that's a 256 point curve). Then, there is the ignition timing, temp sensers, load, air mass calibrations, etc. He has another box that connects to that same box with big dial knobs to change mixture and ignition timing. All this was needed just for idle and shift as well as RPM ramp down tuning. I know when I'm in over my head. Once the data is calibrated, he burns the changes into an EPROM and another box is needed for that. Way cool, but way complicated even for me. It makes me have allot of respect for carbs, but RPMC says that finding good carbs are getting hard to find because demand has fallen for them.
