I assume you are referring to Detroit Diesel 453's. I own a 1968 Sportfish with those engines. I run 18x17 inch three blades with medium cup. I cruise at 17 to 18 knots and top out at 20.5 knots. Those engines are indestructible (thats the good part), but they are loud and dirty (oily bilge can be a problem). The boat runs like a tank, but I do wish i had a few more knots out of her.
