Mikey - the turbo can be mounted on the top of the exhaust manifold about 2/3 towards the front where there is a plate. There was a fire pump model 6BTA on ebay a while ago that had the turbo there, and a discussion about it on boatdiesel.com. Would not work in a B31 due to height limitations.

There is a guy on ebay making custom 6BTA exhaust elbows that might be able to make you one that had enough sweep to solve your problem. There is another place, here in BR, that makes custom stainless elbows that might be able to fix you up. They advertise in B&H.
