Multi fuel source type extinguishers are a must. Also it is not true that diesels have fewer fires. The incidence of diesel engine fire associated with oil leaks and high exhaust temps is more than double that of gasoline engine fires. A self activating system under the engine covers should be seriously considered as a must have. These will work on a temp sensor and extinquish a fire before you are aware of it if you are on the bridge. The last thing you want to do is open an engine cover and try to hand fight a fire.
