My father and I looked at no less then 100 boats to find something to replace the Chesapeake 22 that he no longer needs now that the B26 is going to splash for big water. He wanted something smaller that the grandkids could ski behind and he could launch himself for bluebird days of near shore fishing
After alot of looking, we found that the SeaChaser by Carolina Skiff appears to be a very well made boat as did Sea Pro. We were trying to find the better of the mid-tear market. The hardware mounting on the Sea Pro was incredible.
The things I looked for were backing plates on all deck hardware, no wood construction (foam or devynacell coring) hull to deck joint quality and finish along with all the things that we do to our boats to make them better. He found a used 19' 2000 SeaChaser CC with a Yamaha 4-Stroke and galvanized trailer for 12K. It's small for a 19', but the boat really seems to be made well.
