Mike,
On your original post you said the intake and exhaust were mirror images. I would assume that this means the head had been turned around. Is this the case? I am not very familliar with the Cummins, but can't the turbo be mounted in at least two different locations on the exhaust manifold? Also, you may want to ask Tony Athens on Boatdiesel.com about this situations. I believe he has made some of these alterations.
