Are there any tried/proven potions for bottom protection aside from full scale painting?

Anyone familiar with Boat Armor's Easy On Bottom Coating?Or West Marine's Seaslide Bottom Coating?Or others?

Looking to coat the bottom of a new Whaler that would only be in salt water as/when it was being used.
