John,

Technique Hint:

Round over all of your edges with a router and carbide 1/2" or 3/4" round over bit. Laminate only one side at a time, allowing the cloth to drape over the center point of the boad edge. When the epoxy/glass reached "leather hard" trim away all excess glass. Allow that side to cure, sand smooth the trim area, and flip for the other side, allowing the glass to drape past the first layup. Again, trim when hard enough & sand flush later...

Both layers of your 6 oz glass can be laid up at the same time on each respective side of the shelf. Net result is a full encapsulation & much easier than trying the wrap the whole shelf in a single pass.

Have fun!

Best regards,

Patrick
