Mikey, you can do it on the Cummins. At least on the truck turbo, the oil goes in the top and comes out the bottom, and flipping it is no problem, A friend of mine has done this so the port exhaust would come out on the outboard side, to eliminate turns and bends in the exhaust sytem. The problem is the air cleaner, and as Ken said, it has to be remotely mounted. I've thought about doing this on my starboard side, anyway, to get cleaner, cooler air. I cut out a spot on my port engine box, but ended up glassing it back over - didn't really need the bubble.
