Mikey - interesting thought. It would involve turning the turbo upside down. My memory is that the 4-bolt configuration on the back of the exhasut manifold is square, so that might be ok, but the issue would be - is there enough clearance to flip the turbo over? So you would have the air cleaner on the inboard side, the exhaust on the outboard side. Don't think there is enough clearance underneath to flip it, but I could be wrong. The oil line to the turbo is an issue too, since it's on the inside. The jacket cooling line is on the back of the turbo, so not an issue. The exhaust flange off the turbo is slotted, allowing about a 30 degree movement of the elbow, so some movement is ok, but flipping the whole turbo over just raises issues (lube oil drain, etc) that are way over my head. But thinking outside the box got a lof of folks a long way in this world.
Thoughts, Faithful?
