Uv , I've had good success with Corrosion X on the brush brackets of those pumps. Livewell included. Seems that the brackets that hold the brushes corrode then the brushes can't slide down and make contact with the armature therefore no pumpy.
I've tried silicon greese there with little success . Corrosion X seems to work good in freeing it up. Next time I'll try the thick Corrosion X on the brush brackets with a Q tip . Don't want to spray greese on the brushes. Agree with UV. As long as the manufactures keep making brush brackets out of regular steel pumps won't last. On those fittings of our wash down pumps Vic. I just epoxied sealed those snap in hose fittings. That fixed my problem of a hose persistantly comming off with high pressure.Jabsco said it was a bad fitting. It did it with a brand new pump the second time also. Epoxy fixed it. Cost me a hydraulic pump for the auto pilot when that happpened.Epoxy, Corossion X, Acid, Rejex, 50/50 Bleach .
