fuel tank coating *LINK*

guys,
I've read all of the info I can find regarding fuel tank installation. I especially appreciated Capt. Patrick's and David Pascoe's articles.

My question,
No one seems to mention using an epoxy coating, yet several tank builders quoted an epoxy coating.

whats are the arguments for or against coating a tank in epoxy? Price?, does anyone know why a cold tar coating is better then epoxy, or is it?

or should I cold tar on top of the epoxy?

any help appreciated.
