In Response To: Fiberglass Question (Mitch)

Mitch,

Other than roughing up the fiberglass bonding surfaces with 36 grit sanding & vacuuming up the dust you're good to go... Prime the surface with a very thin coat of un-thickened epoxy about 4 hours before laying the teak with Cabosil thickend epoxy. Time could be less or more depending on the hardener you're using and ambient temperature. You want the primer coat to be tacky before laying the planks.

Work in managable section sizes so that you don't allow the primer epoxy to fully set up before the teak goes down. This will insure a cross linking of molecules between the primer and the paste.

Best regards,

Patrick
