Jerry, inspired by you, I just dug an old washdown pump out of the junk bin and took it down. It too had been mounted motor up and froze up. Just pulled the brush cap (top) off and it's ugly in there. Couple of springs loose, just a mess. So I pulled all the loose stuff out, shot it with CX and put it in the corner for a week's soak, then will look at it again. This may be the pump I tried to seal the top of with some liquid electic tape, and looks like some of it may have migrated thru the wire grommet and gotten inside the brush cap. CX sure has it's work cut out for it on this one, will report next week.
