My boat is an '85 Bahia Mar with a marlin tower. The engine boxes didn't need to be raised, we did cut the stringer down slightly to get the fit. Shafts are 1-3/8", which let me keep the original struts. I can cruise at 25-27 kts, with a top end around 30. The low speed vibrations really don't bother me at all. It's not as smooth as the Yanmars, but I've been on a couple of boats with cat 3116's and mine is a lot smoother than them. Despite my tendency to be a bit of a lead-foot, I get close to 1-1/2 nm/gal.
