In Response To: To hail or not to hail.... (Chiles)

My son and I went to/from the 2003 Montauk Rendezvous with Charlie Haws on his B35. On Sunday morning, as we were leaving the gas dock to head back to NJ, our wives were waving goodbye from the marina dock across the channel (they had driven out by car together). Charlie picked up his hailer mike and and let out a "Bye, dear....love you" that carried very nicely throughout the area. When I saw the way both women smiled, I knew a hailer was a very good thing to have. Might even serve a foghorn or other safety function someday!

I got one with my Icom 602 last year and will be installing both in early May. Plan is to mount it on the flybridge brow, but want to consult the electronics guy for alternatives...arch? side of bridge? (B28)

I'll be interested in how you make out.

Frank
